Dankazura is a pedestrian path lined with cherry trees in the center of Wakamiya Oji Street, which connects Yuigahama beach and the Hachiman Shrine. It is initially built by Minamoto Yoritomo, the first Shogun of the Kamakura government, about 800 years ago. Dankazura looks fantastic when the Toro lights turn on in the evening, especially in the cherry blossom season. Dankazura is usually quiet and a good short-cut route between the shrine and Kamakura station for locals to avoid clouded Komachi and Wakamiya Oji's shopping areas.
